Austin “AJ” Bachand, a California native, graduated from the Scripp’s College of Communication at Ohio University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Communication, Photojournalism.

He has done still photography as well as video production for publications in Ohio, Virginia and Pennsylvania before joining the Daily News-Record in February of 2015. He also completed an internship as a photojournalist for the Tribune-Review in Greensburg, Pa. He is currently in Washington D.C. working as the visuals editor of the Global Press Journal. 

Outside of work, Austin enjoys watching and making movies, or hanging out with his sugar glider, Jiro.
